Hello August! August is my favorite month of the year ;)
To welcoming August, I’m going to post 2 incidents which happened in July.
Incident #1: Burglar!
Another burglary case happened. The thief barged in to my boarding-house at 18th July. This is the first time ever I’m thankful for my insomnia problem.
I’m supposed to present really early (7 A.M) for student orientation in BPK high-school at 18th July. So I couldn’t sleep at all the night before.
After presentation, I’m rushing back to campus to attend US Global Policy class (10 A.M). After class, I usually will buy some food and finally went to my dorm to sleep. But since I’m so sleepy, I’m skipping lunch and go directly to dorm.
I sensed nothing weird although Meli (my neighbor’s dog) was barking loudly and I could hear it from the alley. The front door was opened a little, they put a small rock to keep the door open. But since I was still so “ongol” due to sleep deprivation, I have no awareness at all.
Finally, I entered front door. And there they were, 3 “mang-mang” standing in front of my room. I asked them “Nyari siapa?”. They NERVOUSLY CHUCKLED and said “I’m delivering goods to upstair” and then ran away.
When I finally gain my conciousness, I noticed my friend’s room lock was damaged. And my lock was halfway damaged. I’m so thankful I can’t sleep last night, because if I late, 5 minutes late (buying food), Ted, my laptop, will be gone. Hiro (my laptop before Ted) is stolen already. I don’t think my family gonna buy me another one if Ted is gone too. And did I mentioned Ted birthday was 31 May? He’s only 1 month old!
Dearly beloved, please be extremely careful to your precious things.
Incident #2: F*ckin Chili
I’m a spicy food lovers. And since there’s a new refrigerator in my dorm, I decided to cook my own food.
One day, because I bought a pack of “Cabe Rawit” at supermarket to made a “Rujak”, there were a lot of chili left-over in refrigerator. So I made the most stupid decision in my life: cook “Sambel Terasi”.
With passion, I’m mixing spices into “ulekan” and ulek it. 10 minutes later, my hands were BURNING. It’s extremely hot I can’t stand-still for more than 2 minutes. Nearly every minutes I need to wash my hands in cold water. I did everything Mr. Google told me, wash hand in warm water with salt, wash hands with cooking oil, use tooth paste.. Really, EVERYTHING. And nothing worked.
6 hours later, my hands finally healed.
So the moral-lesson of my story is… ALWAYS COVER YOUR HANDS IN PLASTIC WHEN YOU MAKE SAMBEL ULEK!!
P.S: The “Sambel Terasi” I made, taste real good. I’M NOT GOING TO SHARE IT WITH ANYONE THOUGH!!
